Muskat Sandanski is a white wine grape vine variety. The grapevines are suitable for all the areas in Bulgaria. It was selected in Bulgaria by crossing the varieties Shiroka, Melnishka vine, Tamianka and Cabernet Sauvignon, and was established as a new variety in 1979. The vines are characterized by strong growth. The technological maturity of the grapes occurs in the second ten-day period of September.
The bunch is medium sized (240 grams), cylindrical. Grains are medium-sized (1.8 grams), oval. The skin is thick, yellow-green, with destinctive dots. Consistency is juicy, with a strong musk aroma. The meat is juicy with a musky aroma. The grapes are resistant to gray rot.
The grapes are with 25.9% sugar content, with a relatively high acidity (7.3 g/l), which is of great importance for the preparation of high quality dessert and dessert-sweet muscat wines, characterical with fullness and savoryness.
