Varna Muscat (Varnenski Misket) is a white hybrid wine grape variety, selected by crossing the varieties Dimyat and Riesling Reinsky at “Vasil Kolarov” – Plovdiv.
The variety has average resistance to low winter temperatures and very good resistance to cracking and gray rot. The variety is strongly growing with good fertility (the average yield from the vine is 2.38 kg, and from hectare 1200 – 1500 kg). Middle-ripening variety – matures in the second half of September.
The cluster is small to medium-sized, cylindrical or winged, with a highly developed wing, semi-compact. The grain is small, oval, with thick skin, yellow-green to amber, with thick waxy batter, juicy texture and musky aroma.
The grapes produce high-quality dessert and semi-white wines – light, dense, harmonious, with a pleasant mint flavor.
