White wine grape variety Viognier
Viognier is a white wine grape variety, distributed mostly on the right bank of the Rhone river south of Vienne, France. Released also in Italy, Switzerland and in all wine countries of southern Europe as well as Australia, New Zealand, Chile and the USA.
Viognier (viognier) is also known by the names: Fifth Viognier and Galopin.
In variety Viognier grapes ripen in late September. The clusters are medium to large, conical, winged and compact. The berries are small, slightly oval, white with a greenish tinge. The skin is thick. The meat is juicy with a slight taste of musk.
This vine is used separately to make a dry white wine with aromas of flowers and memorable taste, however no aging potential and is recommended to be drunk young. It can be blended with other varieties to give a flavor of the wine.
